The Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Hon. Williametta E. Saydee Tarr says the Government of Liberia is using technology to address economic and social inequalities affecting women and girls.

Presenting Liberia’s National Statement to the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) on Wednesday, Minister Tarr said the Government uses digital financial platforms,

The First Lady of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Clar Marie Weah, is urging countries to focus on and support grassroot innovations in the prevention and control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), especially among women and girls.

The Sixty-seventh (67^th) Session of the Commission on the Status of women commenced on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the United Nations Headquarters with Liberia’s delegation in attendance.

Hon. Williametta E. Saydee Tarr, Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection is heading Liberia’s delegation, which includes Her Excellency, Amb. Clar Marie Weah, First Lady of the Republic of Liberia, officials of Government and Civil Society.

Liberia’s Envoy to the United Nations, Her Excellency Amb. Sarah Safyn Fyneah, has urged Member States of the United Nations to speak out against atrocities meted on the people of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. 

Amb. Fyneah cautioned that the fundamental principles of international law and the entire international system are at stake and it was time to demonstrate commitment to uphold the principles of the UN Charter.
