Statement by DPR Cecilia Forgbe Wreh-McGill at the General Assembly Debate on the Secretary General’s report on implementation of the Declaration of Commitment on HIV and AIDS and the Political Declarations on HIV/AIDS
Mr. president, I thank you for convening this very important meeting, which creates the platform to review progress and share perspectives on the implementation of the “Declaration of Commitment on HIV and AIDS and the Political Declaration on HIV and AIDS: Ending inequalities and getting on track to end AIDS by 2030”.
High-Level UN Peacebuilding Commission delegation arrives in Liberia: Set to discuss preparations for the 2023 elections and other peacebuilding priorities
A high-level delegation from the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission arrives in Liberia this week for an official mission. The delegation is headed by Her Excellency Ambassador Anna Karin Eneström, Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations and Chair of the Liberia Configuration, Peacebuilding Commission, and includes the Assistant Secretary General for Peacebuilding Support, Ms. Elizabeth Spehar.
Ahead of Visit to Liberia, PBC Liberia Configuration Convenes Meeting of Government and International Partners
The Chair of the Liberia Configuration of the Peacebuilding Commission (PBC), H.E. Ms. Anna Karin Eneström, on May 19, 2022, convened a meeting of the Government of Liberia and international partners and discussed priorities for continued support, with a focus on gender equality and women’s empowerment, including eliminating gender-based violence and promoting women’s political participation in the context of the upcoming presidential and legislative elections.
