The United Nations, through its Peacebuilding Support Office and the Liberia Configuration of the Peacebuilding Commission, has renewed its commitment to support Liberia’s peacebuilding priorities, especially the 2023 Legislative and Presidential Elections.
The Government of the Republic of Liberia on Friday, July 15, 2022, presented to the United Nations its second Voluntary National Review (VNR) of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Mr. president, I thank you for convening this very important meeting, which creates the platform to review progress and share perspectives on the implementation of the “Declaration of Commitment on HIV and AIDS and the Political Declaration on HIV and AIDS: Ending inequalities and getting on track to end AIDS by 2030”.
A high-level delegation from the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission arrives in Liberia this week for an official mission. The delegation is headed by Her Excellency Ambassador Anna Karin Eneström, Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations and Chair of the Liberia Configuration, Peacebuilding Commission, and includes the Assistant Secretary General for Peacebuilding Support, Ms. Elizabeth Spehar.
