The Spotlight Initiative has released its 2020-2021 impact report, ‘Rising To The Challenge’, showcasing the initiative’s success in addressing violence against women and girls and advancing their rights.
The first-ever Least Developed Countries (LDC) Future Forum opened on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, in Helsinki, Finland, with Liberia participating. The forum is being held on the theme: ‘Achieving Sustainable Development in the Least Developed Countries’ and will contribute to the Fifth United Nations Conference on LDCs (LDC5), expected to take place in Doha, Qatar, in January 2022.

On behalf of my Government, I commend you, Mr. Secretary-General, for your inspiring and visionary leadership; and in particular, for dedicating this year - 2021 - to the advancement of the vision of the 2030 Agenda through the transformation of our global food systems.
Liberia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Cecilia Forgbe Wreh-McGill, on Monday, September 20, 2021, on behalf of His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia, and His Excellency Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., Minister of Foreign Affairs, joined world leaders, representatives of the United Nations Member States and the United Nations System at a special ceremony commemorating the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, in the United States.
The Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Ms. Henrietta Fore, has hailed Liberia as a model for negotiating the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccines through the COVID-19 Global Access (COVAX) facility.
The COVAX facility is a global initiative for the procurement and supply of COVID-19 vaccines, with the goal of ensuring that every country, even the poorest, has equitable access to the vaccines.
